Renewal of vows celebrates your marriage. Perhaps you’ve made it to 2, 5, 10, 25 or 50 years together and you want the world to know you’d do it all over again. Maybe you want to reaffirm your commitment to each other after a rough period in your relationship. Or you didn’t have the wedding you’d dreamed about. Perhaps money was tight.
There are many different excuses but the one reason is that a couple want to demonstrate the strength of their commitment and love to each other. It may be that a landmark anniversary is imminent: The celebration of a silver, ruby or gold anniversary is a wonderful time to honour a marriage by reaffirming your commitment to each other with a renewal of vows.
You can be in total control of your ceremony. Perhaps you to repeat the marriage vows you made at your earlier wedding. Maybe make new ones if you’re renewing vows many years later. Your ceremony can include readings, music, poetry or the exchange of gifts or flowers. We can build a ceremony that truly reflects your marriage. Children are often involved in the ceremony too. I offer support and guidance on the drafting of vows. You may wish to re-dedicate your rings. Ceremonies can also involve a ring-warming or ring blessing, where the rings are passed around and blessed by family and friends. Some couples even have new engravings made on their wedding bands or get eternity rings for the occasion.
